He graduated from Ankara University in 1993 with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and later earned a degree in Public Administration from Anadolu University in 2000. This diverse academic background enriched his leadership qualities and broadened his perspective.
In 1997, Barun began his career at DECAR, a subsidiary of the Dedeman Group, as an operations manager. His dedication and foresight quickly earned him a promotion to branch manager of the Marmaris office. After holding various managerial positions at DECAR, he decided to channel his industry knowledge and experience into his own venture when the company closed. As a tribute to DECAR, he incorporated its legacy into his new company’s name, "SEASIDECAR RENTAL."
In 2009, together with his wife Elif Barun, he founded Seaside Car Rental, known in Turkish as "Deniz Kıyısı Araç Kiralama." The company quickly gained prominence with its commitment to quality service and innovative approach. Inspired by his late father’s values, İbrahim ensured that the company adhered to ethical and transparent business practices.

He is one of the founding members of the South Aegean Car Rental Operators Association (GEAKİD), which has driven transformation in the industry.
